Photograph of: Ruth Axelina (Dahlman) Pearson and her friend and neighbor from New York.
Location: Kent, King County, Washington
Photograph Number: 0354
This photograph was taken when Ruth Axelina (Dahlman) Pearson and her unknown friend and neighbor from New York traveled across country by car. During their trip they had stopped and stayed awhile at the farm of Gustav Emanuel and Anna (Otto) Johnson. These are the same family relatives that Ruth's son Eric Alfred Pearson visited on his Harley Davidson motorcycle in 1939. A post card letter written to his family while traveling to the west coast can be viewed by clicking here.
The final whereabouts of what happened to the motorcycle is unknown shortly after this photograph was taken in 1941. However, it's known Eric Alfred Pearson reported the motorcycle as being lost on his 1942 Income Tax Return. This document can be viewed by clicking here.
By 1949, some of Eric's other personal belongings were still at the farm when Gustav Emanuel and Anna (Otto) Johnson traded houses with their son and daughter-in-law Karl Gustaf and Ardis (Lindman) Johnson. In 1966 the farm was sold, and it's now a country club.
