"Transcript of the above obituary"

Mr. William King died very suddenly Monday morning, July 19. He had not been able to do much work for almost eight years, but had not seemed to be much worse than usual. He did his chores on the morning of his death, but complained of not feeling well, and after lying down for a short time, suddenly sat up and fell back dead. His wife had been sick, for some time, when his death occurred. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. D. Chillson, in the M. E. Church. Mr. King was a man of exemplary christian character, highly esteemed by all who knew him; his death so unexpected was a blow to his family; he was the father of thirteen children, of whom six are living.
