Title: Funeral Tuesday For John Eck
John Eck, 73, of Oconee RR 1, died at 6:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at his residence. He had been in failing health 4 years but had not been bedfast. His occupation was farming and he had lived where he died for 40 years.
A son of John and Elizabeth Eck, natives of France, he was born June 20, 1879, at Oconee. He is survived by his widow, Sadie Beyers Eck, and 7 children: Cletus of San Antonio, Tex.; Vincent of Pana, Mrs. Mildred Swim of Decatur, Paul Eck of Pana, Harold and Paul Lehn, Pana; one brother Martin, of Oconee; 3 sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Menne, Mrs. Sophia Schneider and Mrs. Julia Schneider, of St. Louis.
Mr. Eck belonged to the knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society which will recite the rosary at 8:00 tonight at the D. J. Kennedy & Sons funeral home.
The service is to be St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Rev. Fr. T. J. O'Neill officiating, followed by interment in Calvary cemetery.
