Merritt M. Comerford, 63, of 103 South Walnut Street, Pana, was dead on arrival at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 4, 1978, Pana Community Hospital. He had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition.

Mr. Comerford was born in Pana, Dec. 10, 1914, a son of the late Phillip and Rose Eck Comerford. He was married to Dorothy Hanson, Oct. 6, 1941, in Bowing Green, Mo. She survives.

Mr. Comerford was a retired farmer, veteran of World War II and was a member of the Christian County Farm Bureau.

Besides his wife he leaves 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Nancy) Drury of Sullivan and Mrs. Kevin (Debbie) Rentfro of Mode; a son, Merritt E. Comerford of Taylorville; a brother, Virgil, of Pana; 2 sisters, Mrs. Odessa Pfeiffer of Shelbyville and Mrs. Opal Eilers of Tiskilwa; and 3 grandchildren. Two brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at __:30 p.m., Tuesday, Mar. 7, in the McCracken Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Donaldson of Rosamond Community Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 tonight, Monday.
