Title: William M. Swiney, 79, Dies Tuesday; Funeral Friday.

William M. Swiney, 79, of Taylorville, formerly of Assumption, died at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Meadow Manor Nursing Home at Nokomis.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville. Father Martin O'Hara will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Assumption.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00, tonight. Thursday, in Connolly-McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. The prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Swiney was born in Kinmundy Oct. 4, 1912, a son of Martin and Mary Eck Swiney. He married Ellen Orr Cook Dec. 16, 1939 in Bridgeton, Mo. She survives.

Mr. Swiney was a retired farmer and had lived in Taylorville since 1961 when he moved there from Assumption. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves on son, Jerald Swiney, Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Tena) Norris, Palmer; Donna Vogel, Springfield, and Mrs. Robert (Ann) Bozarth, Chatham; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Loyd Swiney, Taylorville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
