Wayne Voellinger
Wayne Voellinger, 68, of Belleville, Ill., born April 6, 1931, in Belleville, Ill., born April 6, 1931, in Belleville, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Voellinger was a weight master for Peabody Coal Co., Freeburg, Ill. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.; and American Legion Post 58; and a World War II Army veteran. He was a player for Eager Beaver softball team, and later manager of Tony's softball team. Mr. Voellinger was also an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elvira, nee Stein, Voellinger; and a brother, Leland Voellinger.
Surviving are his wife, Mary B., nee Dowdy, Voellinger of Belleville. Ill., whom he married March 10 1973, at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Belleville, Ill.; three sons, Mark A. (Roz) Voellinger of St. Charles, Mo.; Ray (Paula) Carr of Belleville, Ill., and Troy (Ulrike) Carr of Peoria, Ariz.; four daughters, Diane Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., Barbara Jean-Carr of Mascoutah, Ill., Beverly (Carr) Mitchell of O'Fallon, Ill., and Patricia Carr of Jupiter, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, a sister, Verna Mae Swisher of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Family Hospice of the Belleview area.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. An American Legion-ritual will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral: Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Father John Myler officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
