Title: Prominent St. Francois County Farmer Dead

Henry Kollmeyer, one of St. Francois County's best known and most progressive farmers, passed away about 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Mineral Area Osteopathic Hospital in Farmington. Mr. Kollmeyer suffered a heart attack on Saturday, August 23d, from which he failed to recover and his condition gradually grew worse.

Henry Kollmeyer had owned and operated the same fine farm, 5 miles east of Farmington, for 40 years. He had always been interested in dairying and until five years ago operated the Kollmeyer dairy. He generally maintained one of the largest and best dairy herds in this entire section.

In addition to his farm activities he had long been an active member of the County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Francois County Fair. For many years he had been an officer and active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The past several years he had been a member of the St. Francois County Republican Central Committee from Liberty Township. His death is a distinct loss, not only to his family and loved ones, but to the entire community.

Henry Martin Kollmeyer, son of the late John J. and Elizabeth Best Kollmeyer, was born December 5, 1889, on the Kollmeyer home place east of Farmington, and passed away at the Mineral Area Osteopathic Hospital, in Farmington, Wednesday, September 10, 1952. Mr. Kollmeyer was one of nine children and was 62 years, 9 months and 5 days of age.

He was united in marriage in 1914 to Miss Clara Griffin. To this union one son, Harry W., was born. Mrs. Kollmeyer preceded him in death on April 30, 1939. He was later married to Miss Elizabeth Brockmiller.

He is survived by his wife, son, Harry W.; grandson, Michael; daughter-in-law; four sisters, Tillie (Mrs. Henry) Rickas, Mayme (Mrs. B. L.) Griffin, Alma (Mr. Jesse) Simms and Anna (Mrs. Chesley) Yeargain; three brothers, Fred, Frank and Raymond, all of Farmington. One sister, Katie (Mrs. Adam) Meyer preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. H. Halter, pastor of the Flat River Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery with Miller's Service.
