Fred John Kollmeyer, 88, of Farmington died Oct. 11 (1984) at Farmington Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1896 near Farmington to the late John J. and Elizabeth Best Kollmeyer. He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Kollmeyer and his wife celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary May 4, 1984. He was president for more than 20 years of the St. Francois County Fair Bureau and past president of the Sanitary Milk Producers Association. Mr. Kollmeyer was recognized for being a dairy farmer for more than 65 years in the association and served on the board of Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He was on the board of directors for the Extension Council, and was a member and past elder of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mytie Lee Griffin Kollmeyer of Farmington; one son, Eugene Kollmeyer of Farmington; one sister, Mayme (Mrs. Barney) Griffin of Farmington; one brother, Raymond Kollmeyer of Farmington; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 5 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Merlen Wegener officiating, assisted by Vicar Dennis Luccro. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
