Mrs. Ida Helene nee Wolf Schifferdecker passed away at the Bales Hospital, Carrollton, Monday evening, August 20, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 1 day. Mrs. Schifferdecker had been in failing health since Christmas however she was always able to be up and about most of the time, and seemingly enjoyed life. About two months ago she became confined to her bed. Since then she had grown steadily weaker physically.

Mrs. Helena Schifferdecker was born September 19, 1872, near Worden, Ill. Here she was baptized into the Christian faith and received her Christian training. At age 18 years she came to Carroll County, Missouri, with her parents.

On October 26, 1895, she was married with Mr. Leonhard Schifferdecker after the marriage the young couple moved to a farm west of Norborne, where they lived until 1931. In that year they retired from the farm and moved into their home on South Pine St. Here Mrs. Schifferdecker resided until the day of her death. Fourteen years ago her faithful husband was taken from her side.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, 2:30 p.m., in Trinity Lutheran Church of which she was a faithful member. The Rev. O. G. Tiemann conducted the services, basing his memorial address on Rev. 18, 21-25. A choir sang hymns of hope and consolation.

She leaves to mourn her passing four children; Alma, Mrs. Fred Russell of Dodge City, Kansas; Emilie, Mrs. John Wegeng . . Irene, Mrs. Raymond Pugh; and a son, Rudolph of Norborne, a sister, Mrs. Tillie Kallenberger of Hardin, and three brothers: John of Peoria, Ill., William of Carrollton, and Edward of Hardin. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Burial in Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Wm. Schiferdecker, Junior Wolf, Marvin Kallenberger, Herbert Wolf, Russell Meador, Wyman Kruse.
