Title: She had been a resident of this community for 65 years. Funeral at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday:

Mrs. Barbara Wagner passed away at her home two and a quarter miles northeast of Norborne, last Thursday, December 24th (1931) after being ill with pneumonia for about nine days. Had she lived until Christmas day she would have been eighty-five years old.

Barbara Guitterman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Guitterman was born December 25, 1846 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois where she spent her childhood days and grew to womanhood.

In 1865 she was united in marriage to Berthold Wagner. Soon after their marriage they came to Missouri landing at Miles Point, having made the trip up the river by steam boat. They lived on a farm south of Norborne, until 1871, when they purchased the old home place north of Norborne where she spent the remainder of her life and passed away on that same farm.

Born to this union were eight children, one daughter who died in infancy, Kate who passed away about 32 years ago and the following who survive: John Wagner of Neosho Mo., Len and Sam Wagner both of Norborne; Mrs. Mary Weber of Dodge City, Kansas; Anna wife of Tony Albrecht, and Mrs. Elizabeth Wolf both of Norborne.

The deceased leaves to mourn her passing other than the six children, 24 grand-children and seventeen great grand-children. Mr. Wagner preceded his wife in death in 1916.

Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Wagner were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in this city Saturday morning of last week at 10 o'clock conducted by the Rev. H. L. Kemmer. Burial was made in Stemple Cemetery north of Norborne.

The following acted as pall bearers, C. J. Smith, Adam Weis, F. E. Kenton, Chas. Shalenhamer, Frank Wagner and Frank Wille.
