Title: Lonis Carl Chatman, Sr.

Lonis Carl Chatman, of Farmington, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 1963 at Mineral Area Osteopathic Hospital after a brief illness. He was 48 years, seven months, and ten days of age.

The deceased was born July 7, 1914, near Doe Run, the son of the late John M. and Martha Scaggs Chatman.

He was united in marriage to Miss Opalean Kollmeyer April 7, 1934. To this union five children were born. They are: Lee and Jerry, of Farmington; Barbara (Mrs. Robert) Hogan, of St. Louis and Lonis Carl Jr., of the home. One son died in infancy. Besides his wife, he also leaves two granddaughters, Carol Chatman and Elain Hogan; the following brothers and sisters: Nolis Chatman, of Denver, Colo.; Ed Chatman, of Flat River; Otto Chatman, Mrs. Mary Wilkerson, Mildred (Mrs. A. A.) Reed of Farmington and Lola (Mrs. W. A.) Boevingloh, of St. Louis; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He had been engaged in construction work the past few years, his last engagement being with the Union Electric, Taum Sauk Project at Lesterville.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 26th, at 2:00 p.m., at the Cozean Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Orville Larimore. Burial was in Pendleton Cemetery, Doe Run, with Cozean service in charge.
