William "Bill" Edward Stockman was a member of the Chinese Air Force.

William "Bill" Edward Stockman was a first Lieutenant in the United States Air Forces during World War II, and received the "Distinguished Flying Cross".

William "Bill" Edward Stockman married Mary Maude Clyde on February 26, 1947, location unknown.

On November 11, 2008, Al McCormick provided the below information:

The Malta Bend Cemetery is where the Stockmans, McCormicks, Coles, Givens, etc are buried.

The crescent shaped entryway was added several years ago by a man named Myron Kersten. He's a local farmer who lives within sight of the cemetery.

Myron was the Treasurer of the Association for many years. He wanted to restore the monument to have it appear as it was in days gone by so he raised about $3,000 to get this done. He even managed to get some of my money. At one time, there were two of these monuments at the cemetery as there are two driveways.

At one time, Mary Maude and Bill, were helping Myron keep track of who was being buried in Malta Bend. I think Mary Maude gave it up after Bill's death as it was a measurable amount of work. Members of the Malter family have taken that over.
