Notes for John Milton Crowe

Obituary - (Newspaper unknown):

John Milton Crowe, 80 Topeka, Kansas, died Friday, Aprill 21, 1995, at Topeka hospital. He was born December 4, 1914, in Rosamond, Illinois, the son of Claude Bailey and Myrtle Kail Crowe. He was a mechanic for caterpillar and worked in Peoria, Illinois, Guymon, Oklahoma, and Dodge City, Kansas before he retired.

Mr. Crowe was an Army veteran of World War II, having served fron September 19, 1942, to December 10, 1945. He was a member of the 497th Engineers Company and served 32 months in India. He was a member of the Town and Country Christian Church in Topeka and Charles Earnest Scott Post No. 47 of the American Legion and Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Dodge City, Kansas. He was married to Opal Achemire October the 8, 1949, in Dodge City, Kansas. She survives. Other survivorsinclude a son Claude William Crowe, of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Donald Crowe, Moweaqua, Illinois; a sister, Frances Whalen, Morrisonville, Illinois; and two granddaughters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Town and Country Christian Church. North Post No. 400 of the American Legion will conduct gravesite services at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Crowe will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. The proceedings is the obituary of John as it appeared in the newspaper.
